In basketball, the most difficult skills involve shooting, passing, catching, dribbling and rebounding.

Make sure that the palm of your hands, are not in contact with the ball. Your fingers should be far apart from each other able to grip the ball. Practice holding the ball for as long as you possibly can. This way you can practice gripping and handling the ball on a basic level.

Keep dropping the ball and catch it with one hand. Now, repeat by quickly swapping your legs and hands. Drop it again and switch your hands back in the other position. You can increase the level of difficulty by catching the ball before it even comes in contact with the floor.
